Privacy & Local Link History

How Y2mate handles video URLs, temporary download sessions, rate limits and device-local history.

Video addresses and source requests

Submitting a video address sends it to this service for metadata parsing. The service contacts the source platform, whose own privacy and access policies apply. Opening a download or preview image connects your browser directly to the relevant source, which receives your IP and ordinary request information.

Temporary service data

Video metadata, failed-request state and download-session tokens are kept in bounded, short-lived memory. Sessions are tied to a hashed network identity for abuse prevention. Standard web server access logs may contain your IP, requested site path and time. We do not request source account passwords or cookies.

History on your device

Recent-link history is stored in your browser’s local storage only after you open a prepared source link. It records the original video address, title and chosen format, not the signed media URL or a confirmed download. Use Clear history or clear site storage to remove it. Avoid shared devices if your history is private.

Advertising and sponsored offers

The downloader pages show a labelled link to a separate sponsored page. Visiting a download page does not load the two Adsterra advertising scripts. On the sponsored page, clicking Load advertising starts those scripts; clicking a sponsored offer opens an external advertising destination.

Advertising providers can receive your IP address, browser information and interactions and may use cookies. Their destinations apply their own privacy policies. The sponsored page is sandboxed separately from the downloader, so its scripts cannot read the downloader's local history or manipulate its input and download controls. Closing the page stops its active scripts. Y2mate does not send the video link to these advertising scripts.
